Editorial Policy

Last updated: January 2025

Moonwalk Archive exists to celebrate Michael Jackson’s work with the seriousness it deserves. This policy explains how we make our content and the standards we hold ourselves to.

Original work only

Everything we publish is written by us. We do not scrape other websites, and we do not take an existing article and lightly reword it. When we draw on facts reported elsewhere, we verify them against reliable sources, add our own context and analysis, and credit our sources where appropriate.

Accuracy and honesty about uncertainty

  • We do not fabricate statistics, quotes, dates, credits, chart positions or box-office numbers.
  • Where a figure is widely reported but not independently confirmed, we mark it as reported.
  • Where sources genuinely disagree, we flag the disagreement rather than pick a side silently.
  • When we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and note the change.

Respect for copyright

We do not reproduce full song lyrics, we do not host copyrighted audio or video, and we do not republish other people’s articles. Images are used only where we have permission, a valid licence, or a clear public-domain basis. Video is embedded from official platforms, not re-hosted.

People-first, not SEO-first

We design for readers first. Search visibility matters to us, but we never sacrifice accuracy, usefulness or reading experience to chase rankings, and we do not mass-produce thin pages.

Advertising and independence

Advertising helps keep the archive free, but it never influences what we write. Sponsored content, if it ever appears, will always be clearly labelled and kept separate from our editorial coverage.

Corrections

If you believe we have published something inaccurate, please contact us. We take corrections seriously and will update the page and acknowledge the fix.
